jakeJake Edmonds - Managing Director

Jake has been at the forefront of film safety since the mid 1980s and his knowledge and expertise has become much sought after by major film studios and minor productions alike. He is well known in the industry and studios such as Warner Bros. have employed his services since 1997 to the present day, overseeing many major blockbusters including all 8 Harry Potter Films.  His ability to communicate at all levels is one of his key skills which is important when dealing with diverse and sometimes delicate situations. 
Jake provides safety solutions in the UK and abroad.


Jason Curtis - Senior Occupational Health and Safety Advisor


Jason has nearly 20 years experience within the entertainment sector covering Film, Television and live events that is underpinned with qualifications and experience gained in the construction and transport sectors.  He has written safety policies for large and small organisations both within and outside the entertainment sector.  Jason is also a City & Guilds qualified trainer and has developed and delivered training courses as well as carried out hands on roles in rigging across the construction, standby, electrical and underwater disciplines.







Leah Chalk BSc Tech IOSH SpDipEM  -  MSL Accounts

Leah is a founding member of MSL and has been with the company since 2004. Employed previously as a Financial Investigator at the Serious Fraud Office, and within Financial Systems at the NHS, after achieving her NEBOSH & specialist diploma in Environmental Management, Leah is now currently in charge of MSL Accounts & management of operations.

Jen Compton-Chalk - PA, Office Support & GDPR Administrator

Jen joined the company in 2005 and provides office support to the team. 

She coordinates events, training, media / technology and production accident database reporting.  Jen is Media Safety Ltd's DSE Assessor and is the go to person if you need DSE advice or assessments carried out. 

More recently, Jen has taken on the role of MSL's GDPR Administrator.

James Clarke GCGI Tech IOSH -  Trainer & Safety Advisor

Jim has assisted MSL with many film and media projects and delivers Qualsafe First Aid training and IOSH Safety Management courses. In his previous working life, Jim was a project engineer in the Building Services Industry with over 35 years experience.  

Mick Sh

Mick Sheehan MIIRS MPGDip FdA GradIOSH- Safety Advisor

After spending several years in the Military Mick became involved in Security & Crowd Management dealing with large crowds at outdoor events. He attended The Scarman Centre to study Risk Management and is a member of the Institute of Risk Management as well as IOSH. Mick has several years’ experience in the MENA primarily working as a security contractor and then as a Tier 2 medic. Mick has achieved his NEBOSH Fire Risk Assessor's course and Advanced Fire Risk Assesor course with the FPA.

Keith Murray - Safety Advisor

Keith first qualified as a Health and Safety professional more than 25 years ago. Since then he has progressed his professional qualifications and service offerings in Fire Safety Management and Environmental Management. He held the role of Principal Risk Manager at the BBC and has supported (strategic and shop floor) the loss prevention, business interruption and contingency planning operations of leading worldwide brands in the media, film, entertainment and estates management industries.  

He defines his workplace role as a service provider that is: customer focused, adds value and is ‘Enabling not Preventing’.


Paul Barratt - Safety Advisor

Paul has assisted MSL with many film and media projects and more recenlty has been assisting us with projects located around London and the South West of England.

Prior to becoming a safety advisor, Paul was a partner in a successful Building Services company utilising his skill set developed as a Project Engineer (Electrical) with one of Europe’s largest Building Services companies.

Paul holds both his NEBOSH qualifications as well as keeping his electrical qualifications current including BS7671 (IEE wiring regulations 17th edition) and BS7909 (Code of practice for temporary electrical systems for entertainment and related purposes).

Kim Bradford - HR & GDPR

Kim is an HR professional with over 17 years industry expertise, covering all aspects of generalist HR and employee relations.  Her specialisms include organisational design, employment law, policy / process design and review, mediation, design and delivery of training programmes, talent and recruitment management, and performance interventions. 

More recently, Kim has also become a GDPR practitioner and has been assisting MSL with our compliance.
